Body
Legislative History
Resolution 14-156, authorizing the city manager to purchase equipment, materials and supplies for the City's public utility operations.
Purpose & Explanation
In January of this year, Hudson Public Power (HPP) received a request to provide electrical service to a new facility being constructed on Hudson Industrial Parkway. Due to the size and power requirements of building, HPP contracted the GPD Group to review the circuit capacity needs as well as fusing coordination. The results of GPD's work showed that HPP could accommodate the additional load requirements with nominal adjustments to the protective devices at the substation. However, due to the up-sizing of the projects electrical transformer, GPD engineers strongly recommended the installation of additional relay and breaker protective devices at the building site. The devices will provide the needed mechanisms to ensure our staff's safety, while providing proper protection for the distribution system. Public Works staff received three quotes for this equipment with the lowest being provided by Siemens Industry Inc. in the amount of $57,155.00 plus freight.
Timing Considerations
Upon authorization to proceed by the City Council, the administration will award and enter into a purchase contract with Siemens Industry Inc. for the above amounts.
