Brief Description: The scope includes upsizing an existing, private property storm water management pond located within a City of Hudson easement to increase capacity to aid in alleviating downstream flooding.

Purpose & Explanation
This project originated from a smaller, "neighborhood" stormwater study conducted in late 2024 following a severe rain event on August 8, 2024. The scope includes upsizing an existing, private property storm water management pond within the City's easement limits to increase capacity and aid in reducing downstream flooding.
The estimated cost of the project is $200,000 which includes a 10% contingency. The project is being designed in-house and scheduled for construction in the spring, 2026. Staff will return to Council should the project cost exceed the allotted budget.
The 2022 Policy for Work on Private property has been reviewed and found to apply to this project based on the following:

1C. The drainage area is greater than 5 acres.
3. Exceeds Residents Capacity to Resolve.
