Brief Description:   This legislation seeks approval of the terms and conditions of the collective bargaining agreement that was negotiated in part by the City Manager with the Ohio Patrolman’s Benevolent Association (Patrol Officers) and authorization for the City Manager to enter into said agreement.

Purpose & Explanation

Staff recommends that Council pass the attached legislation to authorize the City Manager to enter into this bargaining agreement, to be effective January 1, 2021, which covers terms and conditions of employment and other related matters for the Ohio Patrolman’s Benevolent Association (Patrol Officers) bargaining unit members.  The contract will be effective January 1, 2021 through December 31, 2023. The agreement was scheduled to be ratified by Union membership vote October 29, 2020. The results will be provided to Council at the meeting on November 4, 2020.

Timing Considerations

Agreement will go into effect on January 1, 2021.
