Brief Description: The City Engineering Staff would like to discuss upcoming Akron Metropolitan Area Transportation Study (AMATS) funding applications for various road and trail improvements throughout the City.

Purpose & Explanation
The City staff is preparing to submit for state/federal funding for the construction of various road, trail and resurfacing projects through AMATS. Staff has reviewed several potential project locations and identified the projects with the highest scoring potential. Attached is a project location map and preliminary project summary matrix for further reference.
If Council is in concurrence, City staff will return to Council with a request for each project specific resolution, confirming the City's commitment to each project prior to submittal. The schedule for application submittals to AMATS is in October, 2023. Below is a list of projects that City staff would like to submit for:
Resurfacing Grants:
1.) Boston Mills Road (West Corp Line to W. Streetsboro Road)
2.) Hines Hill Road (West Corp Line to Valley View Road)

Surface Transportation Block Grant (STBG) Grants:
1.) E. Barlow Road at Terex Road/Hudson Industrial Parkway Intersection Improvements
2.) Stow Road at Ravenna Street Traffic Signal Improvements
3.) SR 91 Roadway Reconstruction, Various Locations (South Corp Line to North Corp Line)
4.) W. Barlow Road at Terex Road Turn Lane Improvements
5.) Norton Road Reconstruction, from Hudson Drive to Hike & Bike Trail (Joint Project with Stow)
6.) Barlow Road at Young Road Intersection Improvements

Transportation Alternatives Set Aside (TASA) Grants (Trails):
1.) Akron Secondary Trail - Additional Funding Request (Springdale Road in Stow to Terex Road along Metro RTA property)
2.) Boston Mills Road Trail (115 Executive Parkway to Lake Forest Drive)
