A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR COMPETITIVE BIDS AND TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR HUDSON DRIVE WATERLINE EXTENSION PROJECT.

Purpose & Explanation
The new Public Works facility on Hudson Drive is currently in design and is anticipated to commence construction in late 2025/2026. As the new facility will require public water, the existing water main on Hudson Drive, near Hudson Gate Drive, will be extended up to the proposed facility. The estimated cost of this portion of the project with contingency is $615,000.
Staff is also requesting permission to bid and award the reconstruction of the 6" water service connecting to Hudson City Hall at 1140 Terex Road. This portion of the project would eliminate the connection to the Akron water system and provide a new 6" connection along Terex Road. See attached Exhibit - City Hall Water Service attached for further reference. The estimated cost of this portion of the project with contingency is $235,000.
See attached Exhibit - Hudson Drive Waterline and City Hall Water Service attached for further reference. Both projects are anticipated to be bid in late summer with construction this fall into the winter, 2026. The total estimated cost of construction, including contingency, is $850,000.
