Purpose & Explanation
This resolution authorizes staff to solicit bids and award a contract for the installation of security fencing and entrance gates at the Electric Department facility. Over the past several years, the property has experienced an increase in unauthorized activity, including multiple incidents involving attempted theft of department inventory and materials. The proposed fencing will strengthen staff safety & site security, enhance the effectiveness of the existing camera system, and serve as a deterrent to future unauthorized access.
Following the recommendation for HPP to remain at its present site, the Administration would like to move forward with this fencing request. This installation is now a priority to mitigate the recent uptick in criminal activity and to secure the facility’s perimeter effectively.
