Executive Summary
In January 2012, City Council decided to update the City’s 2006 Strategic Plan. On May 5, 2012 and on May 23, 2012 Special City Council Workshop Meetings were held to update the Strategic Plan. Staff recommends City Council approve the attached Resolution amending the current City of Hudson Strategic Plan.

Purpose & Explanation
In January 2012, City Council decided to update the 2006 Strategic Plan. During the update process, City Council, staff leadership and the Mayor were given the opportunity to convey their thoughts and concerns relating to Hudson’s current and future position.
On May 5, 2012, and on May 23, 2012, Special City Council Workshop Meetings were held to update the Strategic Plan. During this process critical issues were identified and documented. Based on this input, strategic goal statements were developed along with topic areas and objectives for each goal.
On August 21, 2012, Assistant City Manager Scott Schroyer requested review and comment on the Draft Strategic Plan document. The attached version of the Draft Strategic Plan document is based on the input we received.
On September 25, 2012, the Draft Strategic Plan was reviewed and modified at Council Workshop. Staff has finalized the attached 2012 Strategic Plan for adoption.
Timing Considerations
Following City Council’s formal adoption of the Strategic Plan, staff will develop action plans to identify how the goals stated in the Strategic Plan will be achieved.
