Purpose & Explanation
The proposed sidewalk installation along Valley View Road and Hines Hill Road is currently budgeted for construction in 2024 as part of the 2020-2025 Connectivity Program. The proposed sidewalk alignment will be along the west side of Valley View Road from Hunting Hollow Drive to Hines Hill Road, the east side of Valley View Road from Hines Hill Road to Wethersfield Drive and the north side of Hines Hill Road from Granby Drive to Glastonbury Drive. The sidewalk construction also includes storm drainage improvements, grading, crosswalks, lighting, electric conduits, driveways, and minor clearing and restoration.

The estimated total cost of construction is $2,055,000, which includes a 10% contingency. Staff will return to City Council if the cost exceeds the above total cost of the project. The project will be bid in early 2025 and constructed in the spring, 2025.
