A PROCLAMATION RECOGNIZING A RAIN BARREL PROJECT AND BROWNIE TROOP 90518.
Executive Summary:   Brownie Troop 90518, which consists of Hudson residents, is hoping to earn a Save Water Badge.  In order to receive the badge, they must complete a community project designed to protect the water cycle.  The troop has planned a rain barrel project at Veterans Way Park.
Body
Hudson Parks staff has worked closely with Brownie Troop 90518 in selecting an appropriate project that will benefit the community.  A rain barrel to be located at Veterans Way Park will ease storm water run-off and allow Parks staff to use the water for several purposes.  The rain barrel will match other rain barrels located in other park locations.

Purpose & Explanation
Brownie Troop 90518 will raise funds for the purchase of the rain barrel.  Hudson Parks staff will install the rain barrel and provide the minimal ongoing maintenance of the barrel.  The collected water will be used to water plants and trees throughout the park.  
Timing Considerations
The rain barrel is scheduled to be installed this fall, weather permitting.
