A RESOLUTION AFFIRMING THE APPLICATION SUBMITTED BY THE CITY MANAGER’S DESIGNEE TO THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE FOR A COPS OFFICE STOP SCHOOL VIOLENCE: SCHOOL VIOLENCE PREVENTION PROGRAM GRANT.

Purpose & Explanation

Staff is seeking funding, up to $500,000.00, to cover the cost of technology and equipment, including Next Generation 911 capabilities, in partnership with the Hudson School District to provide expedited notification during an emergency and to improve security.  There is a 25% match required.

Staff recommends that City Council affirm the City Manager’s Designee’s application to the United States Department of Justice for a COPS Office STOP School Violence: School Violence Prevention Program grant.
