Purpose & Explanation
In recent past, the Hudson Fire Department has disposed of obsolete equipment by using GovDeals. We researched both GovDeals and Ebay history for similar commercial door openers for sale and found none. Per Ordinance Nos. 92-25 & 98-114, we confirmed that no other department within the City had any interest in these used 35-year-old door openers. We also checked with 5 other area fire departments (Twinsburg, Stow, Akron, Coventry and Cuyahoga Falls). There was no interest in buying these openers.
Upon hearing we were about to dispose of these door openers, Medina Township asked if we would consider selling them. They submitted the only bid in the amount of $500.00.  (See attached bid).
Staff wishes to sell the eight (8) used garage door openers and all associated parts, sensors and remotes to Medina Township. They will be sold on an "as-is" basis with no expressed or written warranty.
Timing Considerations
Staff would like to sell the openers immediately upon approval by City Council.
