Legislative History
City Council conducted a first reading and referral to Planning Commission on December 18, 2018.
Purpose & Explanation
The subject parcels are located between Martin Drive and Terex Road in the Chittenden Acres Subdivision. Mr. John Carse, representing the ownership group, would like to develop the property with single family residential units. The subject parcels were placed into the current District 6 zoning in 1999 when the Land Development Code was adopted. Prior to 1999, they were zoned for residential use under the former township regulations.
Planning Commission completed the preliminary review on December 10, 2018 and City Council conducted a First Reading and referral back to the Planning Commission for a Public Hearing. At the Planning Commission public hearing of January 14, 2019, the Planning Commission recommended City council approve the requested map amendment. The property owner of 5784 Martin Drive (north of the subject site) attended the hearing and submitted a statement supporting the application and requesting that all parcels on Martin Drive be rezoned to residential on behalf of six property owners/residents. The document is title as a petition; however, such a request would need to be submitted as a map amendment request by the desired property owners.
