Legislative History

Resolution 23-55 Authorizing and Ratifying the City Manager’s Designee to Apply for the OBWC Safety Intervention Grant

Purpose & Explanation

The City of Hudson received $25,298.70 from the Safety Intervention Grant.  Hudson Emergency Medical Services is eligible to use this funding for the purchase of two powered stair chairs.  The total cost of chairs is estimated at approximately $31,000.  Grant funding is based on a 3 to 1 match and the City of Hudson’s match would be approximately $8,000.  A recent price reduction by Stryker has allowed us the opportunity to purchase a third stair chair thereby allowing us to equally outfit all three front line ambulances with the same style of powered stair chair. The cost of the third chair will be approximately $15,500 with the three-chair discount. Funding is available in the Fire/EMS account and will be secured with a Q2 appropriation.
