Purpose & Explanation
House Bill 33 provided funds for the FY24-25 Water and Wastewater Infrastructure Grant Program to assist Ohio communities with necessary investments in water and wastewater infrastructure projects. The projects that receive funds will have access to clean drinking water and wastewater infrastructure through this grant. The program is administered by the Ohio Department of Development in partnership with the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (Ohio EPA).

The City staff is seeking additional funding opportunities to help assist with the costs of the Nicholson Waterline Transmission Project, which has received funding from the FY24 OH-13 Community Project Grant in the amount of $959,752.00 in August 2023.

The proposed water transmission line on Nicholson Drive will eventually be constructed between SR 303 and Barlow Road and will connect two major transmission mains within the City's water system adjacent to our water plant. The proposed connection will maintain water operations throughout the system, improve water quality, and provide increased fire protection. The project will reinforce the City's water system grid and help to maintain business operations in the area and improve economic development.
