Purpose & Explanation
The software will provide a wide range of functions that are currently decentralized and kept on various spreadsheets and documents by different employees. The software will provide a single repository for all HR related documents and records such as performance evaluations, leave time, personnel action forms, certifications, etc. It will provide an electronic workflow and greatly reduce the amount of paperwork for employees, managers and HR.
Staff reviewed four different HR vendors and determined ABRA was the most all-inclusive and best option available. Sage is a proven leader in HRMS software and many public entities use ABRA.
Please refer to Exhibit A for the project summary that includes the extensive list of functions the software will provide.
Timing Considerations
We would like to complete the installation and configuration of the software by year end 2012 with full implementation in early 2013.
Fiscal Impact
X Currently Budgeted (we will utilize the funds currently available in the personnel budget within Administration. The funds are available through the consolidation of the Executive Assistant positions in the City Manager’s office).
