Purpose & Explanation
The Terex Road Resurfacing Project includes the resurfacing from Londonairy Blvd. to Barlow Road (West).
The Terex Road Resurfacing Project construction costs will be split 80%/20% max./min. (State/City) via an Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT), Surface Transportation Block Grant (STBG) resurfacing funds. The ODOT funding is capped at $506,000. Any costs over this amount are the responsibility of the City.
The current estimated costs of construction of the project, shown in red on the attached exhibit, is $695,419.31 of which a max of $506,000 will be paid with Federal STBG funding directly to the contractor. The remainder is the City's construction cost of $189,419.31 paid with local funding. The construction estimated costs includes a 5% contingency ($662,304.10 - base + $33,115.21 - 5% contingency).
The Terex Road Resurfacing project between Londonairy Boulevard and Barlow Road (West) is scheduled to be formally bid in mid to late January and roadway construction would begin in early Spring 2023.
Staff anticipates also resurfacing the section of Terex Road from Barlow Road east to Hudson Drive (shown in green on the attached exhibit), also in 2023. The cost to resurface this section of Terex Road is estimated at $432,151, which will be paid for via 100% City funds.
