Legislative History
For any meeting of City Council, the Hudson Charter, Section 3.04, requires that a Clerk of Council Pro Tempore be appointed in the Clerk's absence.
Furthermore, Codified Ordinances, Section 220.03, speaks to the responsibilities of a Clerk Pro Tempore in the absence of the Clerk from any meeting of City Council. Ordinance No. 13-114, amending Sections 220.03(d) and 220.031(a) of Chapter 220, "Council," of the Codified Ordinances, was passed by City Council on October 2, 2013.
Purpose & Explanation
The City Solicitor has advised that passage of this motion will provide for automatic appointment of the City Manager (or the City Manager's designee) as the Clerk of Council Pro Tempore at future Council workshop meetings in the absence of the Clerk of Council.
