Purpose & Explanation
The Brandywine Creek Watershed Study Update, evaluated the local stormwater system, specifically examining major streams, ponds, bridges, culverts, and trunk sewer mains.
This model and study goal was to update an existing hydrologic and hydraulic model previously developed with support from NEORSD in 2017. The updated study expanded upon the existing model including areas of the watershed not previously reviewed. The updated model was then used to identify and prioritize solutions for major flooding issues and, where feasible, improve overall water quality. Findings from the study were recently shared during a public meeting at Hudson High School on June 18th and are now set for presentation to City Council. Once Council reviews the findings, the report will be finalized to serve as a foundation for future capital budget planning.
