Brief Description: The Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation provides the Safety Intervention Grant Program funding to Ohio public employers who wish to purchase equipment to substantially reduce or eliminate injuries and illnesses associated with a particular task or operation. The City Manager has accepted matching grant funding on behalf of Hudson EMS for the purchase of a power cot and load system for Hudson EMS.

Purpose & Explanation
The Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation awarded the City of Hudson's Emergency Medical Service a Safety Intervention Grant of $37,217.36 (75% of the base cost) for a power ambulance cot and power load system. The City of Hudson's match is $12,405.78 (25% of the base cost). This matching grant does not include warranties. The City has received a quote from Stryker, provider for the cot and from the local installation contractor Excellence Inc. in an amount of $49,289.14 including warranties and installation parts and labor.
Timing Considerations
Grant funding was awarded, and funds were received on 9/18/2020. Equipment must be purchased and implemented by 12/18/2020. Receipts must be submitted by 01/18/2021.
