Purpose & Explanation

The City hired a consultant, MCM Consulting Group, to complete a comprehensive needs assessment and strategic plan for the City’s PSAP/dispatch center and public safety radio equipment for Police, Fire and EMS.  This was achieved by completing the following:

1.                     Analyzed current equipment and conditions

2.                     Interviewed key staff and completed field testing to help determine what works well, suggested changes, etc.

3.                     Developed technical plan for recommended equipment replacements

4.                     Prioritized recommended solutions and prepared timeline for implementation

5.                     Provided detailed budgetary impact

The plan establishes priorities and timeframes to implement the recommendations

X                       Currently Budgeted (2019 Police budget includes $576,000 for the Dispatch Console.  There is $180,000 for Next Generation 911 (Airbus System) earmarked in 2020 in 5 Year Plan
