Executive Summary:    This Ordinance would amend Planning Commission, Board of Zoning and Building Appeals, and Architectural and Historic Board of Review rules pertaining to meeting minutes.

Ordinance No. 14-52 enacting new rules pertaining to board and commission meeting minutes was passed by Council on May 7, 2014.
Purpose & Explanation
This legislation mirrors similar legislation proposed by Council allowing some discretion to determine that a board, commission, or subcommittee meeting not be audio recorded and/or video recorded.  The purpose for the legislation is the rare event that a meeting must occur at a location other than Town Hall where electronic recording is not practical.  The City Solicitor has drafted the attached proposed Ordinance to amend Section 252.04 as such with the condition that the Community Development Department shall be responsible for preparing full and accurate written meeting minutes which will enable the public to understand and appreciate the board or commission's discussion and such written meeting minutes shall serve as the official minutes of such meeting.
