Body
Legislative History
Beginning in 2009 the City has annually applied and received a recycling grant from ReWorks to promote recycling activities in Hudson. (2013 resolution #13-41)
Purpose & Explanation
In 2013, the City of Hudson received a grant of $17,078.22 which was used to promote recycling and recycling education in Hudson. The city was able to offer free curbside recycling bins, one official recycling drop-off center, recycling containers at the Hudson City Schools and promote recycling through our Get Caught Green Handed program as well as resident Recycling Guide flyers.
For 2014, the City is eligible for grant money. We would expect to be eligible for the same amount as in 2013. However, the 2014 grant funds have not been established to date. This is a reimbursable grant and does not require any matching funds from the City. With these funds, the Public Works Department will continue its cooperative efforts with the aforementioned organizations and continue its public education programs and providing access to recycling.
