Purpose & Explanation
The project will include the abandonment of an existing 4" diameter cast-iron watermain, located under the northern lane of E. Streetsboro St., that is undersized and failing. The existing 4" diameter watermain has had numerous breaks over the last three years. Currently there are four (4) property services on the northside of E. Streetsboro that are tied to the existing 4" diameter watermain that will need to be transferred to an existing 8" diameter main located along the south side of W. Streetsboro Street. Upon completion of the service transfers, the old 4" diameter main will be cut, capped and abandoned in place.
The estimated costs of construction of the project, including a 10% contingency is $100,000. The project design is nearly complete and is planned for construction this spring.
