Purpose & Explanation
Staff is seeking an Assistance to Firefighter Grant (AFG) in the amount of $202,827.27 to assist with funding the purchase of new SCBA's for the Hudson Fire Department. New equipment to meet the latest National Fire Protection Association standards is budgeted in 2023. The Assistance to Firefighters Grants is highly competitive. By applying for the 2020 AFG that will be awarded in 2021, it will provide the City with an additional opportunity for application. If this application is not funded, staff will seek funding through the 2021 AFG that will be awarded in 2022. Current equipment will become obsolete in 2023. A match of $20,282.73 is required. The grand deadline was 2/12/2021.
