A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE COUNTY OF SUMMIT FOR THE ACQUISITION AND OPERATION OF SANITARY SEWER FACILITIES IN THE CITY OF HUDSON BY THE COUNTY OF SUMMIT, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
Executive Summary: The City Manager is requesting legislation for the City of Hudson, Ohio (“City”) to enter into an agreement with Summit County Department of Environmental Services (“County”) for the transfer of ownership of the Hudson Sanitary Sewer System (“System”) to the County.

Purpose & Explanation
The City has been in negotiations with the County for the past several years regarding the potential transfer of the System to the County. Due to the increasing costs and more stringent regulations, the County will be more able to absorb the cost increases among their 50,000 customers and still maintain the level of service to the customers within the Hudson System. The transfer will become effective January 1, 2016 at 12:00 A.M. local time.
Timing Considerations
With the approval of this legislation, the City would enter into an agreement with County for the transfer of the System to the County.
