Executive Summary: The Hudson Cemeteries wishes to purchase a miniature excavator for the purpose of grave site preparation and light construction and grounds maintenance tasks. This new unit will replace the existing 21 year old unit.

Resolution 13-157 provided permission to seek bids for city equipment, including this excavator for grave preparations.
Purpose & Explanation
The Hudson Cemeteries staff reviewed various excavator models, makes, and brands including demonstration tests of equipment. City staff is in agreement that the Caterpillar model 304E CR excavator provides the best features for grave preparation purposes and is currently available under State Bid Contract number 800055.
Timing Considerations
The City Manager will execute the purchase agreement following City Council's approval of the Resolution.

Staff recommends City Council direct the City Manager to enter into a purchase agreement with Ohio CAT, 3993 E Royalton Road, Broadview Hts., Ohio 44147, for the purchase of a Caterpillar model 304E CR Mini-Excavator as specified in the attached bid for the purchase price of $45,858.87 on State Bid Contract number 800055.
