Purpose and Explanation
The Police Department would like to purchase an integrated body worn camera and in-car camera system. This system would include the implementation of body worn cameras and replacement of in-car cameras. The current in-car camera system was originally purchased in 2008 with some updates in 2014 and 2017. The new system would be fully integrated and synchronized and includes locally hosted storage solution, on-site training, and 5yr support on all hardware and software. As you are aware body worn cameras have been in the 5yr capital and we are now ready to implement this project upon Councils approval of this resolution.
The pricing for this system falls below the Ohio State Contract 573077-0, which is effective through 06/30/2021.
The total cost for this system is $196,978.00 (5x$39,395.60). Five-year 0% interest payment plan with annual payments of $39,395.60 with first payment due January 2021.
