Purpose & Explanation

This project will include the design, coordination with Norfolk Southern Railroad Corporation and construction of new quiet zones on Stow Road, Hines Hill Road, and at 3074 Ravenna Street.  The new quiet zone improvements are anticipated to be low profile, concrete medians with reflective delineators posted on top of the medians as shown on the attached concept photo.  


The installation of the quiet zone improvements is scheduled for this summer, 2021.

Suggested Action

Staff recommends that City Council approve this authorization for the City Manager to advertise, receive bids, and enter into a contract for the proposed installation of the quiet zones at Stow Road, Hines Hill Road, and 3074 Ravenna Street.
