Purpose & Explanation
America Recycles Day (ARD) was started in 1997 by the National Recycling Coalition and has continued to be a vibrant program through the efforts of the Keep America Beautiful organization. America Recycles Day is the only nationally recognized day dedicated to encouraging all Americans to recycle and purchase recycled products. In support of America Recycles Day (ARD), the Keep Hudson Beautiful Subcommittee of the Environmental Awareness Committee will encourage residents to become more active in recycling efforts and promote recycling in businesses and residences. Residents are encouraged to take the pledge, to learn by understanding materials collected for recycling, to act by reducing personal waste through recycling, and to share by encouraging others to participate in recycling efforts. Keep Hudson Beautiful will also encourage residents to recycle through a social media promotion. More information regarding America Recycles Day is available online at <https://americarecyclesday.org>.
