Legislative History
Resolution No. 12-138, A resolution authorizing the City Manager to enter into a purchase agreement with AtNet Plus for a Storage Area Network, Virtual Machine Server, and associated equipment; Passed 10/3/2012
Resolution No. 21-124, City of Hudson Five-Year Plan 2022-2026, passed on November 16, 2021.
Purpose & Explanation
With components of the current server and storage infrastructure more than 8 years old, it needs to be replaced. The proposed solution will use 4 nodes to replace the current 4 Dell hosts/servers and 1 EMC SAN. The Dell VxRail Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI), integrates computer storage and networking into a single appliance coupled with data management and consolidation capabilities that can scale-out to application needs, thereby eliminating the need for a traditional SAN. Dell's VxRail is also integrated directly with VMWare and is extremely flexible allowing not only to scale up by adding more drives, memory and CPUs, but also to scale out by adding additional cluster nodes.
