Executive Summary
Attached is a summary of appropriations adjustment requests for the second quarter of 2012.
Legislative History
City Council passed Ordinance 11-39 establishing appropriations for 2012.
Purpose & Explanation
The additional appropriations are needed for expenses that were not anticipated when the original budget was prepared or are due to the cost of an item or project exceeding the original estimate.
Note - we amended the original appropriations request to include the $25,000 donation for the purpose of funding a portion of the Veterans Memorial at the Hudson Memorial Stadium, $40,000 to increase the Cable TV budget for the stadium project, interior wiring project and to repay $5,000 to the General Fund.   We also increased the appropriation for the SR 91 drive entrance at Corporate Drive (JoAnn Stores) project to $76,446.85.
Timing Considerations We anticipate passing discussing the appropriations at the July 24 workshop with passage of the authorizing ordinance at the August 15, 2012 Council meeting.

Suggested Action
The City staff recommends that City Council approve the legislation amending the 2012 appropriations. By statute, any appropriations legislation goes into effect immediately upon passage and therefore does not require emergency language.
