Purpose & Explanation
The 60-Day View Council Meetings Report is intended to provide a method for staff and Council to identify scheduled matters being prepared for Council discussion and legislation. It provides the tentative regular and special workshop and meeting dates on which identified items are expected to be brought forward to Council. It covers a rolling 60-day period. Items may fall off the list, or the expected date for Council consideration may change. Inclusion of an item on the list is not an indication that assembled information needed for Council's consideration is available. Legislative material and background information will typically be available with publication of Council meeting and workshop agendas.
The Items Not Scheduled Report provides an overview of discussion topics and legislation yet to be scheduled to come before City Council during regular and special workshops and meetings. Once items receive a firm scheduled date they will appear on the 60-Day View Council Meetings Report accordingly.
These reports are prepared and monitored daily for needed changes and additions by the Clerk of Council with direction from department managers and the Interim City Manager. Current reports are available to elected officials and staff on their iPads via the SmartSheet app.
An open discussion will provide an opportunity for Council members to ask questions and contemplate modifications in subject matter and timing.
Timing Considerations
Periodic review of the Legislative Tracking Reports by City Council, beginning at the first workshop in May 2014 and every other month thereafter.
