Purpose & Explanation
The project will replace the existing undersized 4" diameter, cast-iron, waterline on Roslyn Avenue with a new 8" diameter waterline. The project also includes the replacement of the residential water services between the main line and the right-of-way. This section of waterline is undersized, over 80 years old and nearing the end of its useful life. After completion, the fire flows will be improved in this neighborhood.

The Engineering Department is designing the project in-house with our existing staff. Staff will be providing the proposed plans with nearby residents and offering site visits to discuss the project with the public prior to finalizing the design and bidding of the project. The construction of the project is currently scheduled for the summer of 2023 and is anticipated to be completed in the fall of 2023. The asphalt resurfacing of Roslyn Avenue is also scheduled for the fall of 2023, after completion of the waterline work.
Project Costs
The estimated cost of this waterline replacement project is $400,000, which includes a 10% contingency.
