Brief Description: The City is a member of the Northern Ohio Risk Management Agency (NORMA), a self-insurance pool for property and liability insurance. This amendment will allow board members to remotely participate in the board meetings.

Ordinance 95-194 - An ordinance awarding a contract entitled "Agreement and by-laws, NORMA Self-Insurance Pool, Inc." for membership in and administration of a self-insurance pool and declaring an emergency.
Purpose & Explanation
The City is a member of NORMA, a self-insurance pool for property and liability insurance. Wichert Insurance serves as the third-party administrator for the pool. The NORMA board consists of one representative of each of the 11 member cities. The board meets on a quarterly basis and on occasion, a board member may need to join the meeting via video conferencing or teleconferencing. To permit such participation, NORMA's by-laws require an amendment be passed by at least 2/3 of the member cities. NORMA's board has already approved the amendment as shown in Exhibit A.
