Legislative History
13-04-Authorized the City Manager to advertise for bids for the capital maintenance programs.
13-66-Award of 2013 Concrete Program
Purpose & Explanation
The total budget for the Concrete Program is $400,000.00.  The base bid for the 2013 Concrete program came in significantly less than expected at $263,122.37.  Due to the contract coming in below the budgeted amount we would like to add several alternate streets to the program that were included in the contractor's alternate bid.  The total amount of the alternates that we would add would not exceed $95,472.59.
Timing Considerations
Upon authorization to proceed by the City Council, the administration will award and enter into a contract with Perrin Asphalt Company for the alternate amount of $95,472.59.
Fiscal Impact
      X        Currently Budgeted (430 fund)
        Supplemental Appropriation Required
        Appropriation Not Required.

Recommendation
Suggested Action
Staff recommends that City Council approve this resolution authorizing the City Manager to award and enter into a contract with Perrin Asphalt Company for the alternate items and we are requesting an emergency clause be added to this legislation in order to maintain the public health and welfare.
