Staff seeks authorization to apply for a grant from the Local Government Safety Capital Grant Program for funding for a Next Generation 9-1-1 system. 

Timing Considerations

The grant deadline is March 21, 2016.  Grants will be awarded in May 2016.

Suggested Action

Staff recommends that City Council authorize the City Manager or her designee to apply for grant funding from the Local Government Safety Capital Grant Program for funding for a Next Generation 9-1-1 system.
