Brief Description:  The Hudson Fire Department is seeking a training reimbursement grant in the amount of $1,800.00 to assist with the cost of training four new volunteers to the level of Volunteer Firefighter.

Purpose & Explanation

Staff is seeking funding from the Ohio Department of Commerce Division of State Fire Marshal through a 2019 Training Reimbursement Grant to assist with the cost of training four new volunteers to the level of Volunteer Firefighter in 2019.  The cost of educational materials and certification was $738.00 per firefighter.  Reimbursement is limited to $450.00 per firefighter.

Suggested Action

Staff recommends that Council pass this Resolution, affirming the City Manager’s Designee’s application submittal to the Ohio Department of Commerce for a 2019 Fire Department Training Reimbursement Grant on behalf of the Hudson Fire Department.
