Executive Summary
The City Staff is requesting a discussion and approval by City Council regarding the funding of two (2) four foot bike lanes along Hines Hill Road and the Barlow-Terex Road Projects to be constructed as part of the ODOT Resurfacing Projects in 2013. The bike lanes are not eligible for funding under the resurfacing program and will be 100% locally funded.

Purpose & Explanation
Hines Hill Road Scenario #1:
From the City of Hudson Corp line on Hines Hill Road (Village of Boston Twp.) to west driveway at the YDC property. Cost of Bike Lane Construction = $170,000. (2013 Budget) (Scenario#1 if Parks Dept. constructs the portion of the trail from the YDC driveway to Prospect Street through the YDC property.)
Hines Hill Road Scenario #2:
From the City of Hudson Corp line on Hines Hill Road (Village of Boston Twp.) to Prospect Street. Cost of Bike Lane Construction = $500,000. (2013 Budget)
Barlow-Terex Road:
Terex and Barlow Road - From SR 91 to the railroad tracks near Little Tykes. Cost of Bike Lane Construction = $320,000. (2013 Budget)
Timing Considerations
If the proposed bike lanes are approved, the City Administration will proceed with the final design this fall and include the costs in the proposed 2013 budget.
