Purpose & Explanation
The walkway from the parking lot to the entrance is approximately 225 feet long. The Hudson Senior Network has relied on a golf cart to assist seniors that are unable to make this walk. Seniors that are arriving or leaving at the same time must stand in the elements and wait to be transported on the golf cart. A shelter with bench near the parking lot would provide a safe, protected area for guests of City Hall to wait for transportation to the community rooms or to be picked up. Community Development Block Grant funding could fund 75% of the cost of these improvements as they benefit elderly persons 62 years or older. The City would fund the remaining 25% of the cost. The grant request would be $17,062.50 and the City match would be $5,687.50.
