Purpose & Explanation
The scope of this project involves the lining of approximately 635 feet of 24-inch diameter storm sewer and 414 feet of 12-inch diameter storm sewer.
The storm sewers being lined are a safety concern due to the numerous sink holes and require constant maintenance. The lining process will eliminate future sink holes caused by separated joints and will extend the life of the storm sewer.
Timing Considerations
Following the approval of this Resolution by City Council, the Engineering Department will advertise in the local newspaper and receive bids for the project. Staff will only return to Council if the bids received are in excess of 10% of the Engineer's Estimate; otherwise the City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract with the lowest and best bidder.
