The current park turf utility vehicle purchase was made in 2007.
Purpose & Explanation
The Parks need to replace a turf utility vehicle at this time, based on age and condition. The unit is going into its 11th year of service and has reached the end of its useful life. The unit is used outside on a year round basis.
Currently the unit’s condition is as follows:
1. Failing hydraulic system affecting plow, bed and attachment operations
2. Severe mainframe rust and body rust
3. Needs new suspension installed
Staff will be utilizing state term pricing for this unit. The cost of the utility vehicle is $25,844, less the trade-in allowance of $5,844, for a total price of $20,000.00 (State Contract # STS800237) from Baker Vehicle System Inc. 9035 Freeway Dr. Macedonia, OH 44056.
Timing Considerations
The equipment is needed for the 2018 park season.
