Executive Summary
This project involves the installation of approximately 150 cubic yards of gabion baskets and stone, 160 square yards of erosion control blankets, rock channel protection, sanitary sewer creek crossing stabilization, excavation, embankment and restoration. This project is located along a stretch of Brandywine Creek tributary located in the rear of the properties located at 233 and 225 Ravenna Street, within an existing drainage easement.

Purpose & Explanation
This work is being performed due to the substantial amount of erosion which in turn has caused a potential safety issue, loss of property, transportation of additional sediment downstream as well as jeopardizing the integrity of the existing sanitary sewer that is crossing the creek.
Bids were opened on Tuesday, August 21, 2012. Below is the Engineers Estimate along with the respective bids that were received.

Administration is requesting City Council approval to authorize the City Manager to award and enter into a contract with Geotech Services, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio for the Brandywine Creek 2012 Streambank Stabilization Project. We would also like to award an alternate option to upgrade the Galvanized Gabions to PVC Coated Gabions for a price difference of $1,095.00. This would change the bid price to $78,525.90. ...
