Purpose & Explanation
The Hudson Area Chamber of Commerce approached the City for assistance in funding a targeted digital marketing campaign to promote all of Hudson as a destination for dining, shopping, and services and to further enhance the work being done by the Chamber, Merchants of Hudson, Destination Hudson, and the City through the ShopLocal/ShopHudson partnership to help the Hudson business community weather the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic. The Chamber requested $20,000 to initiate the targeted digital marketing campaign, and the campaign has done very well. With the groundwork already completed, the Chamber has requested another round of funding that could go directly to advertising, which would be especially helpful in the coming summer months.

The City's Economic Growth Board has reviewed this matter and has provided a letter in support of the City's continued support of the digital marketing campaign (see attached letter).

Should Council wish to proceed, the total expenses for the digital marketing campaign, together with initial funding, will exceed $25,000, which is above the City Manager's spending authority and necessitates this Resolution.
