Legislative History
Resolution 21-155.
Purpose & Explanation
The City of Hudson purchases road salt through the CUE purchasing program. Historically, Hudson's commitment has been set at 9,000 tons of road salt and this is the amount that we have used for the last five years. This year's cost $59.17 per ton dumped. To date, we have ordered 4,000 tons and are ready to purchase additional salt for the remainder of the winter and the start of next winter. To fulfill our purchase commitment, an additional 5,000 tons should be purchased ($300,000). To pile this amount of salt using conveyors will cost an additional $21,000 ($4.25/ton). The grand total needed will be $321,000 for road salt and piling services.
