Purpose & Explanation

This project will include the design and construction of Rectangular, Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFBs) at the unsignalized crosswalk across E. Streetsboro Street and Roslyn Avenue, as shown on the attached map. The estimated project cost of construction plus 10% contingency is approximately $32,000. City staff will return to City Council if the bids are in excess of 10% of the Engineer’s estimate.  Due to delays associated with the fabrication of the signs and limited contractor availability, the installation of the RRFBs is estimated for spring, 2022.

Suggested Action

Staff recommends that City Council approve this authorization for the City Manager to advertise, receive bids, and enter into a contract for the proposed Roslyn Avenue and E. Streetsboro Street Crosswalk Enhancements Project.
