Legislative History
Resolution No. 21-155
Purpose & Explanation
Budget requests for 2022 were submitted for consideration in July of 2021. At that time, staff felt that replacement of a bucket truck was the most critical need in Hudson Public Power. Since that time, due to several issues that have been identified, the digger derrick truck is now the priority replacement vehicle in the HPP fleet. The current digger derrick has aged to the point where its reliability has decreased. Hudson Public Power uses this vehicle to lift poles and transformers. The truck's hydraulic system has aged and is showing decreased capabilities resulting in less than safe conditions when lifting heavy objects.
2022 Budgeted Replacement of Bucket Truck- $300,000
Total Cost of Digger Derrick Truck- $363,000
HPP will use existing funds to cover the $63,000 difference between the two vehicles.
