Proclamation: Special Recognition of America Recycles Day 2014.
Executive Summary: Mayor William Currin will proclaim November 15, 2014, as "America Recycles Day" in the City of Hudson. Mrs. Leanne Schumacher, Environmental Awareness Committee (EAC) member, and Sonya Mottram, Public Works Support Supervisor, will be in attendance to accept the Proclamation on behalf of the EAC.

Purpose & Explanation
America Recycles Day (ARD) was started in 1997 by the National Recycling Coalition and has continued to be a vibrant program through the efforts of the Keep America Beautiful organization. America Recycles Day is the only nationally recognized day dedicated to encourage all Americans to recycle and purchase recycled products. In support of America Recycles Day (ARD), the City of Hudson will encourage residents to become more active in recycling efforts and promote recycling in businesses and residences. Residents are encouraged to take the pledge and to Learn by understanding materials collected for recycling, Act by reducing personal waste by recycling, and Share by encouraging others to participate in recycling efforts.
