Ordinance No. 22-141 - authorizing purchase of 2 vehicles for Hudson Police Department
Purpose & Explanation
The Fire/EMS Department has had difficulty purchasing pursuit style vehicles for EMS and Fire that were budgeted in 2023, due to Manufacturing issues over the past several years with these types of vehicles. The Fire/EMS Chief did locate one (1) Ford Explorer at Montrose Ford in Fairlawn, Ohio. The Administration would like to purchase this vehicle, which is being held for the City of Hudson for 30 days at Montrose Ford. The cost of the vehicle is $ 45,007.45. The vehicle is a special type of vehicle that is rated for emergency service pursuit (Police, Fire, and EMS rated). Montrose Ford matched the price of the state-approved contract for this vehicle (State Contract No. RSI010770).

The estimated cost for the vehicle is budgeted at $45,000 in 2023.
