Purpose & Explanation
Historically the Public Works Department has disposed of obsolete and damaged vehicles by public auction. Public Works Department has noted a desire for regionalism and mutual aid between Hudson and adjacent communities. City of Streetsboro Mayor Glenn M. Broska expressed interest in purchasing this truck.
Assistant Superintendent Jeff Shiray and his fleet staff researched similar used truck prices through various sources to determine an accurate fair price for the truck. These sources included local truck dealers as well as on-line vehicle auction sites. Following staff’s review, the fair price determined for the used bucket truck is $14,000. It is important to note that this fourteen (14) year old truck received some minor smoke damage as a result of a fire in the Owen Brown cold storage building. Damaged hydraulic cylinders were replaced and the truck passed di-electric testing for use near energized conductors in January 2013.
Staff wishes to sell the truck and remove it from the city inventory. This truck would be sold on an “as-is” agreement with no expressed or written warranties.
