Executive Summary:   The Summit Akron Solid Waste Management Authority, DBA ReWorks, is the governing authority of Waste and Recycling Programs for Summit County.  City Council will review and consider ratification of an amended Solid Waste Management Plan for Summit County.

Purpose & Explanation
ReWorks' Board of Trustees adopted the amended Solid Waste Management Plan on November 12, 2013.  Ohio Revised Code requires the Board of Trustees to deliver a copy of the adopted Plan to the County Council and the legislative authority of each municipal corporation and township within the County.  ReWorks seeks ratification of the Plan by Summit County Council and local legislative bodies.  
Yolanda Walker, Executive Director of ReWorks, will attend the November 26, 2013, workshop to provide further information and answer questions.  A copy of her presentation is attached.

Timing Consideration
ReWorks has requested that City Council take action within 90 days on a Resolution to adopt the amended Solid Waste Management Plan.
